As part of a study, researchers at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons investigated the effectiveness of Howolis fascines for slope and bank stabilisation.
The final report is now available and gives the wood-wool fascines a positive assessment. The researchers concluded that wood-wool fascines are a sustainable and ecologically valuable solution for stabilising slopes along watercourses.
They are made from a renewable raw material with a positive environmental footprint, are easy to mould, and can be adapted to the terrain. In particular, the combination with living plants ensures high stability and long-term protection.
