The history of drainage with wood is a long one. Our ancestors used wood residues from the forest for drainage. Then came the wood wool: Wood wool in the current sense has been produced industrially from debarked softwood and hardwood using a mechanical process developed in America since around 1840. For decades, Lindner Suisse has been producing tons of wood wool every year as a filter for drainage in loose form.

Lindner wood wool is a natural, domestically produced and biodegradable material for reducing seepage and fine sludge in steel and timber formwork.

How does it work?
The interlocking wood wool fibres form a compact filter. When wet, the fibres expand to seal the spaces where seepage occurs.
